š¦Leading with Courage When the Roadmap Is Unclearš¦

A post recently read "It's time to Lead with Courage", and I have been pondering what exactly that means when you have to lead in a continuously changing environment.
There have been many moments in my career when the roadmap wasn't clear. Where projects shifted, priorities changed, and the path ahead was anything but certain.
As leaders, we often feel the pressure to know exactly where we're heading and how to get there. However, the truth is that today in a fast-changing world, clarity rarely comes before action. More often, it comes after we take the first few steps.
That's where courage comes in.
Courage to admit when we don't have all the answers. Courage to make decisions with imperfect information to get going. Courage to trust our people and adjust course together when things don't go to plan.
Over the years, I've learned that teams don't expect perfection from their leaders. They expect engaged, authentic leaders who show up with purpose. They look to us not for certainty, but for confidence and clarity of direction. Our role is to provide calm in the storm, helping everyone stay focused on what matters most, even when the path forward is not fully understood.
Leading with courage doesn't mean pretending everything is fine. It means being real about the challenges, yet optimistic about the possibilities.
It's about showing up grounded and consistent, even when the path ahead feels uncertain.
Because in times of change, the best leaders aren't those with a perfect plan. They're the ones who lead with empathy, adapt and inspire their people to keep moving forward.
